Application Background

As important weight-bearing and movement structures of the human body, morphological changes and alignment abnormalities of the foot and ankle can affect the biomechanical balance of the lower limbs. Assessment of common foot and ankle diseases such as flatfoot and hallux valgus requires comprehensive analysis of osseous alignment, arch morphology, and joint relationships, combining anteroposterior and lateral foot X-ray images.

In traditional foot and ankle imaging assessment, physicians need to manually locate key anatomical structures such as the talus, calcaneus, and metatarsals, draw relevant measurement lines, and further calculate parameters including the hallux valgus angle, intermetatarsal angle, and arch angle. Due to the multiple anatomical landmarks and measurement indicators involved, manual measurement is cumbersome and requires considerable experience to achieve consistent measurements and consistency.

To meet the needs of foot and ankle image analysis, the system uses AI algorithms to automatically identify key anatomical landmarks in foot and ankle X-ray images and automatically completes relevant angle and structural parameter calculations. Through quantitative analysis of forefoot alignment, arch morphology, and hindfoot structure, it provides standardized and intelligent imaging analysis support for the assessment of foot and ankle diseases such as flatfoot and hallux valgus.
